I couldn’t stay away from Taiwan. My love for this country, and the amazing friends I met here kept calling me back here during the 3 months I was wandering around Asia by myself. I must have booked 3 one way tickets back to Taipei while visiting other countries. I was in Hong Kong and Shanghai prior to visiting Taipei, and I was expecting the culture to be relatively similar. But I was surprised by how different the two cities were. The general population, attitudes, and people were friendlier, and more gentle. It was a breath of fresh air from the noise and intensity of mainland China.
